Don't worry, I'm here

There hasn't been much to write about the past few days. I guess that no news is good news.
(Sorry Jill, and by the way, tell Joey to get me that darn estimate!:>)

I have been taking a break from all the drama around me by simply ignoring it.
:>)

Right now, this minute, life is good. Boo has been a sweetie and learning new stuff at a breakneck pace.

We lined up all the Little People on the table tonight and she stared counting them. Did a pretty good job too. Then stood in front of us clapping and yelling: Yeahhhhh...I DIDIT!!!!
Making Wheelie clap too, which is hard, as he can't get his hands together if his life depended on it. Believe it or not, she counts up to thirteen!

I've been reading "Goodnight Moon" to her before bed the past few days.

SHE LOVES IT.

I have to read it at least three times. Tonight I stopped after once and gave her the book to 'read' in bed. She's still 'reading' out loud right now.

Thank god the weather is getting warmer, I just HATE the cold!
Hopefully I have enough oompf to go out and run around with her tomorrow and/or Sunday.

I downloaded TurboTax yesterday. Took me about 3 hours.
Apparently the guy who fixed my computer didn't put everything back on it, so the machine stubbornly told me I needed this program and that program. On top of that, it was the time of day when my whole system slows down (don't ask me why)

Of course I was in a hurry too, because daughter dear wanted to do her taxes, thinking she was getting back a zillion dollars (not!!). She owes the state some, but is still getting plenty back, as well as more rebate money, lucky duck.

We're still waiting on a few W-4's. I am hoping our refund will be enough to cover fixing the patio door.

So far I've had three guys come out. The first one brought me an estimate the next day. He suggested removing the entire door and posts, re caulking everything and putting new posts on, and perhaps a new door and sealing the whole shebang good.

The other two haven't called me or sent me their estimate.

But the solutions ran the gamut from an entire roof over my patio (NOT!!) to a new door with a synthetic encasing, taking the entire patio slab out and putting in a new one (lower) (NOT!!), to replacing or putting in different gutters and awnings. Whew....

I am also going to check out who else has a patio like we do, and see if they have any problems as well.
Most of my neighbors opted for sun rooms instead. The houses are so close together though, it would take all the natural light away.

We love our big windows! And our patio!

I hope we can get this fixed, with all the other little problems in this house I doubt if we could sell it easily.

Oh well, not our problem right now.

I showed Boo a few photo albums I have with pictures from when she was little *lol*
I showed her one of her father. She did not recognize him. Sad in a way, understandable, as she was so little when she saw him last, almost a year ago.

Last night (it was our day off) we finally got the chance to go to our neighborhood's potluck dinner. We hadn't been since we started babysitting.
It's always kinda cute to go, but...the food...arghhh....

Anyway, it got us out of the house for a few hours.

It's a far cry though from the activities we were used to in Lincoln's Dell Web community.
Where we had two pools, an entire health club, a restaurant, an entire building for activities from knitting to mah yong, to bridge playing, to square dancing, to pottery and stained glass classes, to singing and music making, and...a wonderful spa....ahhh those massages!!! There was also an 18 hole gold course, a boche ball (sp) field and a baseball field.

The community even had their own Red Hat Society chapter!

Oh well......

SGMKJ!

Glad all is well, so proud of Boo. She is gonna be a smart one counting to 13 already. I called Joey and his daughter had a minor surgery so he had been preoccupied. He said he thought you could save your door, it just needs proper protection. He is gonna get in touch with you real soon. Have a blessed day.
