My fellow-ette blogger Joann was murmering about the news one doesn't hear on TV, or read in the paper...lots of stuff going on in the world that is important.
I agree with her.
What really worries me are China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
The leaders of these countries have pretty much been thumping their noses to the US leadership ( I almost said: who can blame them)
Seriously though, have you ever watched the smirking face of Putin next to Bush? Have you heard that North Korea decided to restart building their nuclear facilities again?
Do you really think Iran is afraid of the big bad USA?
China seems to be a force to be reckoned with as well. They showed a powerful force during the Olympics. They proved to have an awful lot of money. And awful lot of people. Probably a huge army.
No matter who winds the presidency this year or four years from now. He has my prayers. It's gonna be a tough road.

Gimme a break! Only a racist would not vote for Obama! He and his wife are racists. I would have left his church during the 1st visit and he sat listening to this vile crap for 20+ years! Read his wife's dissertation, it's racist and vile. They simply can't cast stones. What about his ties with sleezy Chicargo politics?
You question Palin's experience and not Obama's??? (funny!) He has less experience than Palin! As of 6 mos ago, he got 1 bill passed. He didn't vote 139 times. He's never worked on anything controversal. He's did good works for his own gain.
Palin in NRA. Not illegal. She's in Alaska and they need guns. She's hunting legally, likes moose burgers... fine. Taking away guns wouldn't get them out of criminals' hands. Believes life is sacred, it is. She can belive what she likes. She can't overturn abortion. What about women who use abortion as birth control or sex selection? You say she should stay home with her kids? Why? They look heathly and cared for. Same thing can be said about your daughter. Pretty sexist attitude. Women are their own worst enemies. Maybe... if Palin is happy working, she's a happy camper and a better wife and mother for it. Why shouldn't she use her talents!
No one said Obama or any other man should stay home with their kids! Since fathers are very important to their daughters' self esteem and how they view men later... maybe Obama needs to stay home.
Before you scream Replublican... WRONG... Democrat! Never voted Replublican. I'm not fond of the old war horse McCain but I'm not fond of Obama either. He says and does NOTHING! That temple bit was sickening and so is his racism. Both of our choices are scary. I can't vote for Obama. Maybe not McCain. VP nom B is a crook. Palin is the only descent one there and you want her in the kitchen. We need more choices to vote for. We need popular vote. We need to decide the Supreame Court Justices. We need representatives who work for us and not special interest groups. We need to vote for any pay raises our repersentatives get. We need to vote! We need the ability to get rid of bad representatives, especially the President (other countries can). We need to get off our butts and demand they do our will. We need to do our part too. Not just sit and complain.
China... VERY SCARY. Don't buy their crap. India... scary. Ask to talk to an American and don't buy their crap! We need to save the planet!!! There would be plenty of jobs here to do this... make solar panels, windmills, electric cars, electric mowers, solar trains, green houses, green renovation of buildings, energy saving everthing, water saving everything. We don't need to drill for oil (they'd sell it anyways, Alaska sells theirs to Japan), we have the technology already to save the planet. No more drilling! No wait needed! Think before you buy anything. Stop buying crap you don't need. Poor China will have to close factories... boo hoo.
Plant trees and plants, get rain barrows, insulate your house (it needs it). Use water saving toilets and fixtures. Buy vintage clothing, items and furniture. Buy local food and stuff. Stop using plastic bags and toss the plastic ware away too. There's so much we all can do!
Accept that others may not vote the same way as you without disparaging them. I'm not a racist even if I do vote for Obama. Lets all just get along. Stop the wars. We need to save this extrodinary planet above all else. This should be our only war, the war to save our planet.
Please!!! Let women chose the way they live. We should encorage each other! The cat fights need to stop. Palin is just being herself. How wonderful she has the chance. Not all women on the planet have the same freedom. Kudos for your daughter, she's on a hard road and she's trying.
With a little research... Obama will lose his shine. You might be wishing for a 3rd choice too. And not a chose between the lesser of two evils. This is no choice at all.
