Happy ever aftering.......................

Pictures before the wedding. The girl on the left got sick during the ceremony and had to run off to barf. The girl to the left of the Bride is another California girl who followed Bugs to Georgia. We have always called her Darnell, she's such a dits...she once told us she wanted to become a back stage DANCER...o...k...She came to Georgia and got enchanted with the seedier side of Atlanta, she resides in East Point, has a 4 week old baby girl, she did not become a back stage dancer, but she is dancing....in a strip club...
Sweet girl though...our Darnell....
Bugs (on the right) looked peeked, her dress was too large, she bought it when she was 15 pounds heavier.

The theme was simple, green, cotton and sun flowers, vegetarian food, a damn bubble machine, an unflappable wedding couple, a sick bridesmaid, a ruffled maid of honor...

Many good looking quests, and a gorgeous setting on the Chattahootchee River

The setting was spectacular. Sun going down over the river, the trees seem to be changing colors already. Very pretty.

Our flower girl, when she still had all her wits about her.
Before the wedding.
The dress was too large, Bugs never bothered to fit her, but oh well.
She looked adorable, and everyone loved her...

until.....

The flower girl and the ring bearer, at the damn bubble machine.
When those two discovered this machine, smack right in the middle of the ceremony, all bets were off, all the kids came running and the adults were sending us dirty looks for not controlling our children.
When I grabbed Boo and tried to haul her inside, and out the other side of the building, she threw the hissy fit of all ages, I am sure the entire county heard it. There was NO quieting her.
So I let her back at the damn bubble machine.

The ceremony went on unperturbed. The couple said their vows, the preacher sang a song to them, they looked absolutely stunningly happy.
They could care less that the population under 2 was having a screaming fit.
It was the guests (most of whom came an hour late so the ceremony didn't start until 7:30)
who were throwing darts of disgust at me, and another Oma, both of us just gave up and smiled at each other. I don't know who the woman was, but I hope she didn't feel guilty.

What was most important was that Maddie and Will had the wedding of their dreams.
I think they succeeded. They are such a sweet couple. I wish them all the happiness in the world.

As soon as they lined up for the reception though, Wheelie decided that it was time to go.
I called Bugs to take care of Boo, take off her dress and put on her jammies and strap her in the car seat while I dragged Wheelie through the grass and got him in the car.

I felt that Bugs was a little upset with me, but then maybe not. She was just not herself, and I was pretty much livid at the end, so my sense of perception was probably out of whack.
On the way home it took Boo about ten minutes to stop crying, but then she settled down and fell asleep.

As for me...I won't go into it, it was a lovely wedding....and that's what's important.

As for Wheelie....he squeezed my arm in the car and smiled at me...something he doesn't do very often, so I took that as a generous and loving gift of understanding and support.

We all went to bed very early last night and all had a good rest.
Boo woke up happy, We all got showered and dressed and ate breakfast.
I took Boo out for a little walk, and now she is taking her nap.

I would have thought you'd have at least one picture showing Bug's shoes! You worked so hard for them!

Site looks really lovely. A wedding is a big party. It's the living of life afterwards that's such a challenge!
