Another day, another wild goose chase.
MAN, am I tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We started out this morning around 10am, Bugs and Boo still needed shoes for the wedding.
We decided to stay local at first, meaning our local Kohl's and Belk's and Target.....no go....
So we drove to the mall, 25 miles south...we found the shoes Bugs needed, but not in her size.
Our search for Boo's pink high top Converse shoes was also a wash, as they did not have a size five in ANY of the stores that sold them. Size 6 was too large, she would trip over her own toes.
It's now getting to be about 1pm and we're getting tired, cranky and our blood sugar is getting low.
The Starbuck's drinks didn't do us much good either. All three of us were bouncing in our seats.
At this point we're stopping at every large shoe emporium on the large thoroughfare in Kennesaw, where they have those huge warehouse type stores. I kept Boo entertained in the car while Bugs would pop inside the store and look.
To no avail!
The last place we stopped was Babies R Us at the end of the road. By this time this child is looking a bit green around the gills, so I grab a box of snacks from the shelf, open it and let her eat...
Of course they don't have the shoes, we pay for the snacks and head home.
We decided right there and then she would just wear her pink Crocs...
We accomplished ONE thing though. At Kohl's I let Bugs pick out a set of dinnerware, which she desperately needs. Plus some extra mugs and plates. This is our housewarming gift, by the way.
On the drive home Bugs got on her phone and called every Naturalizer store in Georgia...no one has the shoes...
We got home, Boo is super hyper, I let her run around the street (in her new Nikes and her Levi's) and let Bugs make a few phone calls.
She had to make reservations for the club they are going to tomorrow night for the bachelorette party.
We had something to eat, changed the baby, and they were off.
I sat my ass behind the computer and promised myself to find those damned shoes if it took me all night.
And guess what?
I found them!
The store they are at doesn't ship out (BAD customer service...I was told they don't take credit cards over the phone for security reasons? HUH?)
So I will drive to Suwanee tomorrow, an hour 1/2 drive one way, and pick up a $25 pair of shoes, hell, at least they're on sale!
The really funny thing about this whole thing is this:
I get many catalogs for the more 'mature' crowd (and bigger too, ahem) and in one of them they had these same shoes. I showed Bugs these a month ago, but she poo-poo-ed the idea. She said: oh, they're cute...but...
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
I just LOVE being right!
And so it goes...another day...another dollar....
Better get to bed early tomorrow, it's gonna be a loooooooooooong day!
SGMKJ!

You are just too good to be true. My daughter could wear Wellingtons to a wedding for all I cared and I don't see me driving 1.5 hours just to get the perfect shoe.
Of course, I say such things and then I go bonkers trying to give her a hand.
We mothers are just insane for our kids.
I outdid myself even more, Joann, I ordered Boo's Converse pink shoes online too, having them delivered per express UPS *lol*
I am NUTS!
